The mixture of tert-butyl 4-[({2-[5-(diphenylmethyl)-2-oxo-1(2H)-pyridinyl]ethyl}amino)carbonyl]-1-indolinecarboxylate (142 mg) and TFA (4.0 mL) was stood at ambient temperature for 10 minutes. The resulting mixture was evaporated in vacuo and saturated NaHCO3 aqueous solution (5.0 mL) was added to the residue. The aqueous solution was extracted with EtOAc (10 mL). The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over anhydrous MgSO4, filtered and evaporated in vacuo to afford N-{2-[5-(diphenylmethyl)-2-oxo-1(2H)-pyridinyl]ethyl}-4-indolinecarboxamide (96 mg) as an yellow amorphous.
