Reaction Steps
A stirred suspension of methyl sulfide 209 (75 mg, 0.11 mmol) and NaHCO3 (46 mg, 0.55 mmol) in DCM (3 mL) at 0° C. is treated with a solution of m-chloroperbenzoic acid (20 mg, 0.12 mmol) in DCM (1 mL) dropwise over 2 minutes. After stirring 2 h at RT, the reaction is diluted with aqueous Na2SO3 (10 mL) and extracted into DCM (3×10 mL). The combined DCM phases are then dried (Na2SO4) and reduced in vacuo. The residue is purified by column chromatography (gradient elution—10-90% EtOAc in heptane with 0.5% triethylamine) to give the title compound.
