A solution of 1,1-dimethylethyl {(2S)-2-({[5-chloro-4-(1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)-2-thienyl]carbonyl}amino)-3-[2-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]propyl}carbamate (110 mg, 0.202 mmol)[prepared in Example 25] and N-chlorosuccinimide (35 mg, 0.263 mmol) in THF (2 mL) was stirred in a sealed tube at 70° C. After 1 h, the solution was partitioned between H2O-DCM and the aqueous phase was washed several times with DCM. The combined organic fractions were dried (Na2SO4), concentrated under vacuum and used directly without further purification: LCMS (ES) m/z=578 (M+H)+.
