The title compound was prepared by Method A using 1-phenyl-1-(trimethylsilyloxy)ethylene (1.96 g, 10.20 mmol) and diethyl ester of [(2-isobutylphenyl)thio]propanedioic acid (1.64 g, 5.1 mmol). m.p. 195° C. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 0.83 (d, 6H), 1.64 (m, 1H), 2.39 (d, 2H), 6.89 (s, 1H), 7.06 (s, 4H), 7.56 (m, 3H), 7.86 (m, 2H).
