Following a procedure analogous to the procedure described in Intermediate 14 using 5-[5-(2-chloro-4-pyrimidinyl)-2-(1-methylethyl)-1,3-thiazol-4-yl]-2-fluoroaniline (12 g, 34.5 mmol) and 3-fluorobenzenesulfonyl chloride (8.72 g, 44.8 mmol) the title compound of Step A was obtained (9.3 g, 53.4%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ ppm 8.35 (d, J=5.3 Hz, 1H), 7.65-7.73 (m, 1H), 7.52-7.60 (m, 1H), 7.41-7.50 (m, 2H), 7.20-7.37 (m, 1H), 7.04-7.12 (m, 1H), 6.83-7.00 (m, 2H), 3.30-3.40 (m, 1H), 1.46 (d, J=6.8 Hz, 6H). MS (ES+): 507 [M+H]+.
