N-Phenyl-N-(p-toluenesulfonamido)acridine-9-carboxamide (30 mg, 0.0068 mmol) was dissolved in methylene chloride (5 mL) under argon and methyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (77 μL, 0.068 mmol) was added. The solution was stirred overnight at room temperature to yield a yellow precipitate. Hexane was added and the precipitate filtered. Solid was further washed with ether and dried to obtain the product as yellow crystals. 1H NMR (acetone-d6) δ2.58 (s, 3H), 5.02 (s, 3H), 7.02-8.79 (m, 12H) .
