5.99 g of Z-4-chloro-1-(4-benzyloxyphenyl)-2-phenyl-1-[4-[2-(N-methylamino)ethoxy]phenyl]-1-butene is hydrogenated in ethanol-ethylacetate (1:1) using 10% Pd--C as a catalyst. The catalyst is filtered off and the solvents are evaporated. The residue is recrystallized from ethanol-water (1:1). The yield is 3.21 g (66%).
