Procedure

Z-4-chloro-1,2-bis (4-benzyloxyphenyl)-1-[4-[2-(N,N-dimethylamino)-ethoxy]phenyl]-1-butene isprepared from 4.14 g of 1,2-bis-(4-benzyloxyphenyl)-1-[4-[2-(N,N-dimethylamino) ethoxy]phenyl]-1-buten-4-ol according to the procedure described in Example 6(c). The product is purified by column chromatography giving 2.68g (63%) of the product.
