A mixture of ethyl N-(4-ethoxycarbonylphenyl)formimidate (Example Ia) (4.9 g, 0.022 mol) and 2-methoxy-N-methylaniline (3.2 g, 0.022 mol) were heated at 180° until 1.3 ml of ethanol had been collected by distillation. The resulting yellow oil was flash distilled to yield the desired product, bp≈200° C. (0.05 mm). ##STR14##
