Reaction Steps
A suspension of 1.65 g of methyl 2-[3-(2-hydroxymethyl-(S)-1-pyrrolidinyl)propoxy]phenylacetate in 20 cm3 of 6N hydrochloric acid is refluxed for 3 hours. The reaction mixture is concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure (2.7 kPa). The residue obtained is triturated in ether. 1.45 g of 2-[3-(2-hydroxymethyl-(S)-1-pyrrolidinyl)propoxy]phenylacetic acid are obtained in the form of a brown oil.
