A mixture of (2S,5R)-6-(benzyloxy)-7-oxo-NE-picolinoyl-1,6-diazabicyclo[3.2.1]octane-2-carbohydrazide 216 (0.30 g, 0.76 mmol) and Pd/C (0.40 g) in methanol (100 mL) was hydrogenated at 1 atm at room temperature for 3 h. The mixture was filtered through Celite pad and concentrated to provide 217 (0.23 g, quant. yield) as a white foam.
