Palladium hydroxide (120 mg) was added to a solution of (4S)-4-[2-(benzyloxy)ethyl]-1-[6-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-3-yl]imidazolidin-2-one (1.12 g) in methanol (25 mL), the system was purged with hydrogen gas, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 hr. After filtration of the reaction mixture, the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the resulting solid was washed with ethyl acetate to afford (4S)-4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-[6-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-3-yl]imidazolidin-2-one (235 mg).
