Reaction Steps
To a round bottom flask was added sodium hydride (0.13 g, 3.3 mmol, 60% in mineral oil). The flask was then purged with nitrogen, DMF (10 mL) was then added and the flask was cooled to 0° C. 6-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-4H-benzo[c]isoxazolo[4,5-e]azepine (930 mg, 3.0 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) was added and the reaction was allowed to stir for 45 min. Trisyl azide (1.40 g, 4.5 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) was added and the reaction was mixed at 0° C. for 1 h. The reaction poured into ether (100 mL) and washed with brine (3×). The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4, filtered, concentrated to afford crude 4-azido-6-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-4H-benzo[c]isoxazolo[4,5-e]azepine, which was used directly in the following reaction. LC/MS m/z 350 [M+H]+.
