The 1-[1-(allyloxy)-2-methyl-2-propenyl]-4-methylbenzene (24 g, 0.116 mol) and [RuCl2(PPh3)3] (200 mg) were heated in the presence of BHT (50 mg) in pseudo-cumene (50 ml) at 170-180° C. (reflux) for 4 hours.
