A solution of 2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(4-(1-(6-(trifluoromethyl)benzo[b]thiophene-2-carbonyl)azetidin-3-yl)piperazin-1-yl)ethanone (1.12 mmol, 520 mg) in 20 mL of methanol and TEA (2 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 3 days. The resulting mixture was concentrated to yield (3-(piperazin-1-yl)azetidin-1-yl)(6-(trifluoromethyl)benzo[b]thiophen-2-yl)methanone, which was used in the next step without purification.
