Procedure
A mixture of methyl 2-(3-chloro-4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)-5H-pyrido[3,2-b]indole-4-carboxylate (100 mg, 0.222 mmol) and 7N NH3 in MeOH (5 mL) in a sealed microwave vessel was heated in an oil bath at 80° C. for 16 h. After cooling to RT, the solid was collected by filtration, and washed with MeOH, and air-dried to afford 2-(3-chloro-4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)-5H-pyrido[3,2-b]indole-4-carboxamide (75 mg, 0.16 mmol, 74% yield). MS (ESI) m/z 436.10 (M+H).
