A mixture of 5-[4-(6,6-dimethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinazolin-4-yl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,4-benzoxazepin-7-yl]-3-nitropyridin-2-amine (0.63 g, 1.4 mmol), 10% palladium on charcoal (0.50 g) in 30 mL of methanol was shaken in a Parr hydrogenation at 38 psi for 18 hours. The reaction mixture was filtered through a pad of celite and concentrated to give to give 5-[4-(6,6-dimethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinazolin-4-yl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,4-benzoxazepin-7-yl]pyridine-2,3-diamine (0.58 g, 99% yield). MS (EI) for C24H28N6O: 417 (MH+).
