Compound 6' (6 g., 11.0 mmol) was dissolved in dry pyridine (120 ml.), and the solution was cooled at -10°. Palmitoyl chloride (4.7 ml., 16.8 mmol) was added dropwise while the reaction mixture was stirred at -10°. After an additional 30 min. the mixture was allowed to warm up to room temperature and then stirred for 2 h. The product was isolated by conventional chloroform extraction. After purification on a column of silica gel, the yield of 7 was 7.6 g (88%).
