Using the reductive amination procedure outlined in 1C, chrysene-2-carbaldehyde (20D) and 2-amino-2-methyl-1,3-propanediol (Aldrich) gave 2-((2-chrysenylmethyl)amino)-2-methyl-1,3-propanediol methanesulfonate, mp 225°-227° (dec), (abs. EtOH), (C,H,N,S)
