A solution of the product from step (i) (0.29 g) in a mixture of trifluoroacetic acid (10 ml) and dichloromethane (10 ml) was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The solution was evaporated under reduced pressure, the residue dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide then bromo-tris-pyyrolidino-phosphonium hexafluorophosphate (0.16 g), isopropylamine (0.06 ml) and N,N-diisopropylethylamine (0.06 ml) added. The solution was stirred at room temperature for 16 h then evaporated under reduced pressure. Purification was by chromatography eluting with (1:5) ethyl acetate/dichloromethane. Yield 0.01 g as a solid.
