According to the procedure of Step 1 of Example 245 the tetrahydropyranyl ether of 0.659 g (1.13 mmol) of tert-butyl (3S)-2,2-dimethyl-4-[(4-{[7-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yloxy)-2-heptynyl]oxy}phenyl)sulfonyl]-3-thiomorpholinecarboxylate was cleaved to provide 0.472 g (84%) of tert-butyl (3S)-4-({4-[(7-hydroxy-2-heptynyl)oxy]phenyl}sulfonyl)-2,2-dimethyl-3-thiomorpholinecarboxylate as a colorless oil.
