2-(4-Fluorophenyl)-3-(2-methanesulfonyl-pyrimidin-4-yl)-2,3,5,8-tetrahydro-pyrazolo[1,2-a]pyridazin-1-one, 12, (0.9 g, 2.3 mmol) is dissolved in toluene (18 mL) and (S)-(−)-α-methylbenzylamine (10.5 mL, 81.6 mmol) added. The resulting mixture is heated to 140° C. for 12 hours, cooled, and the solvent removed in vacuo. The resulting crude product is purified over silica (1:1 EtOAc/hexanes) to afford 0.8 g (80% yield) of the desired product as a red sticky solid.
