20 g of 1-[(benzo-1,4-dioxan-2-yl)-methyl]-4-(5-chloro-2-nitroanilino)-piperidine were hydrogenated under normal pressure and at room temperature, using 4 g of Raney nickel as a catalyst in 200 ml of ethanol. When the uptake of hydrogen had ended, the mixture was filtered, the material on the filter was rinsed with ethanol and the filtrate was concentrated.
