To 17.85 g (0.1013 mole) of 5-amino-6-fluoro-2-methylquinoline was added 19.5 g (0.1114 mole) of 2,2-diethoxyethylisothiocyanate and the mixture was heated at 80°-90° C. for 1.5 hours. The residue was slurried in ethanol, separated by filtration, washed with ethanol and then recrystallized from ethanol to provide N-(2,2-diethoxyethyl)-N'-(6-fluoro-2-methylquinolin-5-yl)thiourea, m.p. 189°-191° C.
