Procedure

Treatment of 7.15 g. (30 moles) of 5,5-dimethyl-3-tetrahyropyranyloxy-1-octyne (Example 999) with 33 moles of disiamylborane in carbon tetrachloride followed by 30 moles of bromide in carbon tetrachloride, refluxing the resulting mixture, and isolation by chromatography on silica gel, all as described in Example 1173 gives the title compound.

Workup

  1. temperaturerefluxing the resulting mixture, and isolation by chromatography on silica gel
