Reaction Steps

To a solution of 2-[4-(2-ethyl-5,7-dimethyl-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-3-yl)phenyl]ethyl propionate (step 5, 1.75 g, 5.1 mmol) in methanol/THF (v/v, 1:1, 28 mL) was added 4N aqueous LiOH (4.6 mL, 18.4 mmol) and the resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature. After 3 h, the mixture was concentrated.
