To 6-methoxy-1-methyl-8-(phenylsulfonyl)-1,3,4,8-tetrahydro-2H-[1,4]oxazepino[6,7-e]indole (Example 87, 0.12 g, 0.32 mmol) dissolved in EtOH (20 mL), 2 M NaOH (5 mL, 10 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture was heated at 80° C. for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was cooled and extracted with DCM (50 mL). The organic layer was collected, dried (MgSO4) and evaporated to afford the title compound (72 mg). MS m/z 233 [M+H]+.
