Procedure

D2 (500 mg, 1.64 mmol) and pyridine (1.5 mL) were combined in DCM (5 mL). 2-chloro-pyridine-5-sulfonylchloride (314 mg, 1.48 mmol) in DCM (5 mL) was added dropwise. The solution was stirred over the weekend and the solvent removed. The residue was partitioned between DCM (25 mL) and water (25 mL). The aqueous layer was re-extracted with DCM (25 mL) and the combined organic layers washed with brine (50 mL), dried and concentrated. The crude product was purified by column chromatography. Eluting with 0-50% EtOAc/petroleum ether yielded the product as a yellow foam (470.1 mg), δH (CDCl3, 400 MHz) 1.18 (3H, d), 1.46 (9H, s), 1.97 (1H, m), 2.08 (1H, m), 2.48 (1H, d), 2.68 (1H, d), 3.07 (1H, m), 3.32-3.46 (2H, AB), 3.78 (1H, d), 4.16 (1H, br.s), 7.07 (2H, d), 7.23 (2H, d), 7.39 (1H, d), 7.96 (1H, dd), 8.72 (1H, m). MS (ES+): MH+ 481.2/483.1
