Procedure
To a solution of LiBH4 (0.564 mL, 1.127 mmol) at 0° C. was added 5 (0.1 g, 0.225 mmol). The mixture was allowed to stir at room temperature for 2 days. The reaction was quenched with water and extracted with EtOAc. The product was purified with silica gel chromatography eluding with 5% MeOH and 95% CH2Cl2. The reaction provided 6 (8 mg, 0.0029 mmol, 2%) and also 8 (5 mg, 0.0017 mmol, 0.74%).
