Reaction Steps
A solution of 5-allyl-6-hydroxy-3-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)benzofuran (130 mg) in glacial acetic acid (1 ml) containing 10% palladium-on-charcoal (50 mg) was hydrogenated for 2.5 h. The mixture was filtered and the filtrate was evaporated to give 6-hydroxy-3-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-5-propyl-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran (90 mg).
