1,3-Dihydro-4-(4-fluorobenzoyl)-5-methyl-2H-imidazol-2-one (4.4 g, 20 mmol) is combined with 1H-benzimidazole (30 g, 254 mmol) in a sealed flask with stirring, and the mixture heated at about 185° C. for about 7 hr. The mixture is cooled, 120 mL of methanol is added and the mixture stirred in an ice bath. The suspension is filtered and the filter cake washed with water and acetone. The remainder of the process is carried out as in Example IV to yield the title compound.
