Using the procedure described in Example 12, 2-(5-fluoro-3-hydroxyphenyl)-2-methoxybut-1-yl methyl ether was reacted with 2-bromomethyl-7-fluoronaphthalene to give 2-[5-fluoro-3-(7-fluoronaphth2-ylmethoxy)phenyl]-2-methoxybut-1-yl methyl ether in 76% yield, as an oil.
