Reaction Steps
In a manner similar to that described for Examples 1C-D, but replacing 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol with 4,4-dimethylpent-1-yn-3-ol, the title compound was prepared from 4-[1-ethyl-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-propyl]-2-methylphenol: 1H-NMR (CDCl3) δ 7.29 (1H, d, J=8.1), 7.05 (2H, d, J=8.8), 7.00 (1H, d, J=2.3), 6.94 (1H, dd, J=2.3, 8.1), 6.78 (2H, d, J=8.8), 4.26 (1H, s), 3.78 (3H, s), 2.38 (3H, s), 2.05(4H, q, J=7.3), 1.06 (9H, s), 0.60 (6H, t, J=7.3).
