3-{4-[1-(4′-tert-Butyl-biphenyl-4-ylmethylene)-3-methyl-butyl]-benzoylamino}-propionic acid methyl ester (240 mg) is taken into ethanol (20 ml) and 10% Pd/C (20 mg) is added: The system is purged with nitrogen, followed by the introduction of hydrogen (30 psi). The mixture is stirred at room temperature for 4 h, filtered through Celite®, and concentrated. The resulting residue is purified by silica gel column chromatography, eluting with EtOAc/hexanes to afford 160 mg of the titled compound. MS (ES): 500.3 (M++1).
