Reaction Steps
Following the procedure in example 1B step A, 2-[4-(1,1-dioxo-1λ6-isothiazolidin-2-yl)phenyl]-1-ethyl-6-methoxy-1H-indole-3-carbonitrile is treated with 1M BBr3 solution in CH2Cl2 at −15° C. for 1.5 h and then poured into ice-water and filtered and dried to afford 2-[4-(1,1-dioxo-1λ6-isothiazolidin-2-yl)phenyl]-1-ethyl-6-hydroxy-1H-indole-3-carbonitrile in nearly quantitative yield.
