23a was stirred with excess of N-isopropylpiperazine at 175° C. for 72 hours. The precipitates were collected by filtration and washed with ethyl acetate and purified using column chromatography to obtain title compound in 84% yield. 1H-NMR (DMSO-d6) δ (ppm): 1.01 (6H, d, J=6.03 Hz), 2.63 (4H, br), 2.70 (1H, m), 3.22 (4H, br), 7.13 (2H, brt, J=7.32 Hz), 7.42 (3H, m), 7.58 (1H, d, J=9.32 Hz), 8.23 (2H, d, J=8.54 Hz), 8.54 (1H, s). m/z 388.5 (MH+).
