In a manner similar to that of Example 1c, by reaction of 1.9 ml (19.3 mmol) of n-butylamine and 750 mg (1.29 mmol) of ethyl 4′-(3-iodopropoxy)-3′-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphth-2-yl)biphenyl-4-carboxylate (obtained in Example 1b) in 50 ml of ethanol. 380 mg of ethyl 4′-(3-butylaminopropoxy)-3′-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphth-2-yl)biphenyl-4-carboxylate are obtained in the form of a white solid (m.p.=175° C., yield=59%).
