A solution of the compound of formula I, methyl trans,cis-7-[2-(3-hydroxy-1-octenyl)-5-oxocyclopentyl]-5-heptenoate (5 g), described in Example 161, in 50 ml of pyridine and 50 ml of acetic anhydride is stirred at room temperature for 4 hr. The solution is diluted with ice-water and extracted with ether. The ether is washed with 10% H2SO4, water 10% Na2CO3 and water, dried (Na2SO4) and evaporated to give the title compound.
