The procedures described in Example 2 were repeated except that 4-fluoro-N-formyl-1-naphthylamine (1.90 g, 10.0 mmol) and 5-chloromethyl-1-azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane (hydrochloride, 2.17 g, 11.l mmol) were employed. In this case, the desired compound was obtained as a pale yellow liquid (2.90 g, 92.8%).
