30 g of 4-benzyl-2-(1-phenyl-6-chloro-2,3-dihydro-benzimidazol-2-on-3-yl-methyl)-morpholine hydrochloride are treated as in part (a) of Example 2. After evaporation of the solvent under reduced pressure, 20 g of an oily product are obtained and are dissolved in hot isopropyl alcohol. A hot solution of maleic acid in isopropanol is added. The salt precipitates slowly, 19 g of 2-(1-phenyl-6-chloro-2,3-dihydro-benzimidazol-2-on-3-yl-methyl)-morpholine maleate are obtained, m.p. 234° C.
