Reaction Steps
Treatment of 5-(1-(3-pyridyl)ethyl)-2-thiouracil with methyl iodide and sodium ethoxide in ethanol at 0°, followed by acidification gave 2-methylthio-5-[1-(3-pyridyl)ethyl]-4-pyrimidone m.p. 201°-204°.
