Reaction Steps

Following a procedure similar to that described in Example 78(b), but using 2.53 g of pivaloyloxymethyl 2-ethyl-4-(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)-1-{4-[2-(trityltetrazole-5-yl)phenyl]phenyl}methylimidazole-5-carboxylate [prepared as described in step (a) above] and 28 ml of 75% v/v aqueous acetic acid, 1.70 g of the title compound was obtained as a glass.
