Reaction Steps

A mixture of the free base of ethyl 4-{[6-(2-fluorophenoxy)-8-methyl-7-oxo-7,8-dihydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-yl]amino}piperidine-1-carboxylate (0.500 g, 1.13 mmol) and iodotrimethylsilane (0.32 mL, 2.27 mmol) in 5 mL dichloromethane was refluxed. After 4 hours, additional iodotrimethylsilane (0.32 mL, 2.27 mmol) was added and the reaction stirred at room temperature for 3 days. The reaction was diluted with methanol and evaporated, with the residue taken up in a methanolic solution of sodium methoxide (0.5 M, 9.1 mL) and re-evaporated.
