8-chlorodibenz[b,f][1,4]oxazepine-10(11H)-carboxylic acid, 2-[-3-[(methylsulfonyl)amino]-1-oxopropyl]hydrazide (11) was prepared from 8-chlorodibenz[b,f][1,4]oxazepine-10(11H)-carboxylic acid, 2-(3-amino-1-oxopropyl)hydrazide, monohydrochloride (9), prepared as described above in Example 9, and methanesulfonyl chloride, in the manner described in Example 10 above, on a 2-mmol scale to yield 0.46 g (52%) of product.
