3-{[4-(2-butynyloxy)phenyl]sulfonyl}-1-ethyl-3-piperidinecarboxylic acid 3-{[4-(2-butynyloxy)phenyl]sulfonyl}-1-ethyl-3-piperidinecarboxylic acid was prepared starting from ethyl 3-{[4-(2-butynyloxy)phenyl]sulfonyl}-1-ethyl-3-piperidinecarboxylate (3.2 g, 8.0 mmol) dissolved in THF:Methanol (15:25 ml) and NaOH (15 ml). The resulting reaction misture was worked up as outlined in example 1 (step 7). Yield 2.11 g (71%), white solid: mp 159.2° C.; MS (ES): m/z 366.3 (M+H)+
