10 g of 2-amino-3-cyano-4-chloroquinoline is heated with 19 g of thienylmethylamine at 115° C. for 4 hours. The reaction mixture is cooled to 25° C. and mixed 6 times with 50 ml of water. The crystals are filtered off, washed 2 times with 50 ml of water and dried. The resulting product is recrystallized from 60 ml of N,N-dimethylformamide, to obtain 6.8 g pale yellow title compound, m.p.: 208-209° C.
