To (2-amino-5-chloro-phenyl)-pyridin-3-yl-methanone (150 mg, 0.64 mmol) dissolved in 750 uL pyridine was added 4-tert-butylbenzenesulfonyl chloride (225 mg, 0.97 mmol) and the mixture stirred at 60° C. overnight. The reaction mixture was diluted with 1.0 mL H2O and the precipitate formed was collected by vacuum filtration. The crude product was recrystallized from EtOAc/hexane yielding 190 mg of pure title compound. 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ 9.87 (s, 1H), 8.79 (d, J=4.8 Hz, 1H), 8.52 (s, 1H), 7.79 (d, J=8.8 Hz, 2H), 7.61 (d, J=8.8 Hz, 2H), 7.52 (dd, J=8.8 Hz, 2.4 Hz, 1H), 7.40 (dd, J=7.6 Hz, 4.8 Hz, 1H), 7.33-7.31 (m, 3H), 1.22 (s, 9H). MS: m/z=429.0 (M++1).
