To a solution of (5-hydroxymethyl-pyridin-2-yl)-(4-isopropyl-piperazin-1-yl)-methanone (0.275 g, 1.10 mmol) in DCM (30 mL) was added MnO2 (0.400 g., 5.20 mmol). The reaction was stirred for 6 h, filtered through a pad of diatomaceous earth, and concentrated to give the desired aldehyde (0.250 g, 95%).
