Procedure

To a stirred solution of 11-5 (900 mg, 6.26 mmol) and HMPA (30 mL) was added NaBH4 (156 mg, 4.20 mmol). After 45 minutes, the reaction was poured into 50 mL 1:1 Et2O/hexanes and then washed with H2O, brine, dried (MgSO4) and concentrated to provide 11-6 as an oil.
