Reaction Steps

Prepare by the method of Example 17.4 using 1-((S)-α-methylbenzyl)-3-(4-fluorophenylmethyl)-3-(2-(t-butyldimethylsilyloxy)ethyl)-2-oxopyrrolidine (1.7 g, 3.73 mmol) and ammonium fluoride (0.83 g, 22.4 mmol) to give, after chromatography on silica gel eluting with 1/1 ethyl acetate/hexane to give the title compound as diastereomers: Rf=0.49 and 0.27 (silica gel, 1/1 ethyl acetate/hexane).
